Dear MNGFFL Community,
Since our last note to you, the MNGFFL Board of Directors has been closely monitoring the evolving impact of COVID-19. Based on city, state and federal mandates, as well as guidance from the CDC and other recognized health organizations, the Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Spring Season and all accompanying events until further notice. This includes any travel team tryouts, practices, and gatherings in the immediate future.
This decision was not made lightly. It was reached after careful consideration of many factors, and was based on what the Board felt was the best course of action in order to protect the health and safety of our players, football family, and the greater Twin Cities community.
We will be providing full refunds for all those who were registered for the 2020 Spring Season. We ask for your patience as we process all of the refunds, as funds may take a few days to land in your account. If you have any questions about refunds, please email Board@mngffl.com and we will work to provide all of the answers we can.
NOW, that being said, all is NOT lost! Once larger, public gatherings are permitted, our field permits have been reinstated, and concerns surrounding COVID-19 subside to a safe and manageable level, we will communicate our plans for future league-wide socials, possible league-organized flag football games (hopefully in the late spring/early summer), travel team tryouts and practices, and volunteer opportunities so we can all stay engaged with promoting LGBTQ+ sports in the Twin Cities.
You can also be on the lookout for future emails offering 2020 Spring Season registrants a discount to our Fall Season as a thank you for being a member of our community and as a token of our appreciation for your patience.
In the meantime, please abide by all city, state, and federal guidance to help yourselves and our community stay safe and healthy. We're all in this together, and we'll all get through this together.
